ARVA Model MC400PC-1540LP 20 ton - Mobile Hydraulic Mining Maintenance Crane

Recently, ARVA Industries Inc. received an order for the ARVA Model MC400PC-1540LP 20 ton low profile underground mining maintenance crane for PCS Corey Potash Mine in Saskatchewan. The MC400PC-1540LP mobile hydraulic crane is designed specifically for the tough rugged underground mining maintenance environment. The crane is used mainly as a maintenance tool for handling complete mine drill cutting heads.

The MC400PC-1540LP 20 ton crane has a chassis mounted operators’ compartment with all the controls necessary to travel and operate the crane. Full time (4) four wheel drive and (2) wheel rear steer, complemented with out and down outriggers and 300 degree boom rotation enable the crane to navigate and set-up in limited or confined locations. The rugged underground crane has the ability to pick and carry 21,900lbs.

Comfort, reliability, ergonomics and safety have been a major part of the ARVA design process. Standard features include (4) wheel internal wet disc brakes, fail safe spring applied hydraulically released park brake, low emission Tier II diesel engine, (3) speed forward /reverse electric power shift transmission, pilot operated controls, and hydraulic over-load protection with anti-two block system to name a few.

Consideration to servicing and maintaining the crane has also been carefully considered. When the crane is due for service air filters, engine oil filters, hydraulic filters, hydraulic circuits and valves are easy to access by maintenance personnel. The electrical system of the crane consists of marine grade wiring and sealed connections for long life and trouble-free performance.

Additional unique advantages include a front mounted boom with a single (1) telescoping boom section. This front mount short tough boom design allows the boom to swing to the rear staying within the length of the chassis for increased manoeuvrability. Custom boom lengths and optional jib extensions are available allowing the end user to customize the crane for specific needs and requirements.

The optional MC50RBT Rotating Boom Tip attachment is ideal for safely handling mine ceiling ventilation fans, 4” to 12” diameter pipe, and removing/replacing equipment wheel/tire assemblies further enhancing the flexibility and versatility of the crane.

ARVA Industries has been designing and manufacturing specialized lifting equipment for underground mines for over 20 years.
